A long-established, CIU-affiliated social club, which offers a warm welcome to visitors who ring the bell. A public bar-style room at the front of the building is complemented by a large function room, complete with stage, at the back. On the bar, up to four cask ales are offered along with a selection of traditional still ciders. The club features a pool table, several dart boards and a juke box, with a large TV for sports events. In true social club style, the Royston is a hive of activity throughout the week, participating in darts, cribbage and dominos leagues and even boasting its own football team. Live music is performed most Saturday evenings and there are regular bingo and quiz nights, including a popular monthly music quiz (see facebook.com/bensmusicquiz for more details). Regularly featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, the club has also won the South Hertfordshire CAMRA Club of the Year on multiple occasions.
